Vinsobres land
Land
The soil around Vinsobres extends over 7 km slopes, and on common Mirabelle aux Baronnies and Piégon in the department of Drôme. Soils are mostly marl sandy or marl rocky on hillside and quaternary alluvium in stony terrace.
The climate is Mediterranean and is protected by the Mistral and influences alpine relief by relatives.
Several layers:
- on the table land of 100 to 300m: sand and safres
- from 300 to 400m: marl and stone
- from 400 to 450m: stone
On the slopes, the soil is rocky and clay surface. lower slopes consists of rocky boulders. Finally the village to the plains soils are composed of clay filling Pliocene.
Varieties grapes
White varieties grapes:
Viognier gives the wine a very exotic aromatic notes and a smooth mouth.
The grenache blanc provides color and a long finish interesting.
Other varieties are present but a minority as the Marsanne and Roussanne (AOC)
or Chardonnay (Vin de Pays).

Red varieties grapes:
Syrah can get wines very colourful and very aromatic, complex bouquet based fruity and floral
(blackcurrant, raspberry, violet, spices, licorice). These are wines of character with a great potential for ageing.
On the table land, syrah have a very good quality. Grenache has a relatively low acidity and
gives bodied wine, aromatic, soft.
